OBITUARY

Mr. Albert "Brett" Benefield, age 42, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00am from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Wofford Cemetery.  Mr. Ricky McGee, the Minister at Mt. Olive Church of Christ to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 10:00am until 11:00am.

Brett was born on March 6, 1981 in Amory, MS to Steve and Teresa Benefield.  Brett was employed at various manufacturing plants.  He enjoyed coonhunting, football, and most of all spending time with his family.  He enjoyed acting silly and making people laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Lexi Benefield; 2 daughters, Phoebe Benefield and Lyla Benefield; 1 Son, Colorado Benefield; his Father, Steve Benefield; Sister, Sunshine McGee (Ricky); 1 Grandson, Copelan James Dunn; 1 Niece, Heaven King; 1 Great Nephew, Jaxon Edington; Aunt Kay Carr (James) of Vernon, AL, and a host of many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Teresa Benefield; a brother, Shane Benefield, and a nephew Steven King.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Otts Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank all of our many friends, church families and community for the outpouring of love and kindness during this time of grief.
