Obituary

In celebration of the life of Anna Lois Coleman, we humbly join in the worship of God our creator and in memory of a beautiful soul who demonstrated daily HUMBLENESS, STRENGTH AND COURAGE. Anna  L. Coleman was born October 20, 1955 and passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 9, 2021. She was the eldest of five children. She stayed to herself. She was not only a mother to her four children but, also their best friend. Also, she loved her grandbabies and cherished every moment with them. Spending time outdoors and being active brought her great joy.  What also brought her joy, comfort and companionship was her friend, and protector dog Snookie.  She gained interest in collecting frogs, of all shapes forms and fashion. Her family and friends gave her the nickname "Frog Lady."  Ann was a student at Todd School, Vernon, Alabama and was part of the segregation movement of integration of students attending Lamar County High School. Through God's grace she was the epidemy of strength and withstood many battles and adversities throughout her life. Her children often referred to her, as their solider."  Ann adored and loved her significant other Mr. Douglas(Sweet)Cribbs, the both of them shared their life together, making each other happy.

Cherishing and carrying her memories: four children, oldest and only daughter, Paula Coleman, Vernon, AL; three sons, Jonathan Coleman and Julian Coleman, Vernon, AL and Rocky Coleman, Hoover, AL. Her mother, Geneva Westbrook and four other siblings: brother, Scott Westbrook; three sisters, Denise Westbrook, Winnie McCollum and Michelle (Mac) Washington, all of Vernon, AL. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
