Anna Marie Sorrells "Rika", age 15, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, as the result of an accident. Anna Marie is the daughter of Michael and Aften Sorrells of Sulligent, AL.  Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 5:00pm at the First Baptist Church CLC.  The family will visit with friends following the memorial service. Bro. Steven Sanderson and Bro. Jeff Chaffin to officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the FBC Youth Room Construction Fund and can be mailed to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 217, Sulligent, AL  35586.

Anna Marie "Rika" was born on August 25, 2007 in Amory, MS to Michael Sorrells and Aften Byars Sorrells.  She was a sophomore at Sulligent High School where she was most known for her quick wit, cracking corny jokes, making people laugh, and her avid love of her Sulligent Blue Devils which she supported with great pride.  She was a member of the Sulligent Varsity Volleyball team, having played for 4 years with a recent move from JV to Varsity and was also a member of the Senior Beta Club and Class President for the 2022-2023 class year. Anna Marie was very active in her church youth group at Sulligent First Baptist Church where she was a strong encourager, very positive and uplifting, and loved her Jesus.  She had such a positive spirit with her cup always full.  Anna Marie had a laid back and "go with flow" attitude, but could keep everyone in line when needed. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting which she had done wonderfully since she was 12 years old.  She followed current pop culture which included her love for anything and everything Marvel, the show "The Office", and the "Dune" series. In her downtime she enjoyed working out at the gym with her brother Kevin, spending time at the lake, and reading. She was a fan of music and enjoyed a wide range of genres.  Anna Marie was intrigued with the French language and culture, so much so that she was "self-taught" in the language and liked to include it in her everyday conversations.  She loved her family and friends dearly and in return will always be loved and cherished by all who knew her beautiful, loving, and compassionate heart.
