Berney Lee Carruth, age 48, of Sulligent, AL passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his residence.  Public visitation will be held at the Red Barn located at 505 Westwood Road, Vernon, AL on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00am until service time at high noon. The family has requested a private family service. Bro. Jason Clifton and Bro. Jeff Chaffin to officiate. Burial to follow in the Evans Cemetery. The family is also requesting masks be worn during the visitation and the service.

The family has requested memorials to be made to The Children's Hospital of Alabama at 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.

Berney was born on November 8, 1973  in Amory, MS to Dewey Lee Carruth and Barbara Woolbright Carruth.  He was a 1992 graduate of Sulligent High School.  Berney was employed at Bolzoni in Sulligent, AL.  He previously worked as a truck driver for over 20 years.  Berney enjoyed riding horses, loved his dog and other animals and especially loved telling Berney stories.  He was a member of First Baptist Church and recently attended Sulligent Community Church.
