Betty Joyce Newsome, age 65, of Hamilton, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at her residence.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2:30pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services and burial to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Bro. John Holliday to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:30pm until 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Otts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 923, Sulligent, AL  35586.

Betty was born on January 26, 1960 in Aliceville, AL to the late Clyde Dillard and the late Willie Mae Banks Dillard.  She was a 1978 graduate of Sulligent High School and later received her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science followed by her Master's in Business Management, all from Bevill State and Kaplan University.  Betty was employed at Wrangler in Hackelburg for 24 years and previously worked at Health-Tex and in customer service at Sitel.  She enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing and to yard sales.  Betty also had a love for animals and listening to gospel music and Elvis.  Her sweet and loving spirit will forever be missed and always cherished by her family and friends that adored her.
