Billie Joyce Pitts, age 77, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Mitch Nethery to officiate the services. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00pm until service time at 2:00pm.

Mrs. Billie Joyce Pitts was born on October 14, 1947 in Sulligent, AL to the late James Alton Oakes and Robbie Gray Pinkerton. She attended Sulligent Schools. Billie Joyce later went on to attend Bevill State Community College, The Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, MS, and received her Master's Degree in Education from The University of North Alabama, Florence, AL. She taught at Sulligent Elementary School for 28 years before retiring. Billie Joyce attended the Crews Community Church and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her beloved husband. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
