Billy Murphy, age 80, of Vernon, AL passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Diversicare in Winfield, AL. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00am from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Christian Chapel Cemetery in Vernon, AL.  Mr. Butch King to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 10:00am until 11:00am.

Billy was born on October 7, 1939 in Lamar County, AL to the late Harvey Murphy and the late Mattie Fortner.  He was retired U.S. Navy where he worked as an airplane mechanic.  Billy previously worked at Marathon.  He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
