Bobby D. Smith, age 74, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Wofford Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, from 1:00pm until service time at 2:00pm. Bro Glenn Hughes and Bro. Jim Northington to officiate the services.

Bobby David Smith was born on March 13, 1949 in Lamar County Alabama to the late Daniel Dupree Smith and the late Mary Virginia Foster. He was a 1967 graduate of Hatley High School in Hatley, MS. Bobby served 4 years in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from NACCO after 41 years in maintenance. So many men have shared he taught them everything they know. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, had rebuilt an A-Model Ford and was rebuilding a Hot Rod. Bobby was an amazing guitar player. He loved playing guitar with his family and friends. His guitar was his stress release after a long day at work. He was one of those people that if you met him, he was a friend for life. He was a wonderful husband, father and pawpaw. He was the greatest man we've ever known. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Bobby loved his church and his church family. He will be greatly missed by his family, his church, the community, and all who knew and loved him.
