Brenda Godsey Thomas, age 60, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at her residence.  In keeping with Brenda's wishes, there will be no public funeral service.  A private family graveside service will be held.

Brenda was born on January 5, 1966 in Vernon, AL to the late Elbert Godsey and the late Virginia Lou Godsey.  She attended Lamar County High School. Brenda previously worked as a dental assistant for Larry and Daniel Whisenant at the Vernon Dental Clinic in Vernon, AL.  She attended Celebration Worship Center.  Her beautiful memory will never be forgotten and forever cherished by all who loved and knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Godsey, and her sister Barbara Griffith.  Brenda is survived by her husband, Mike Thomas; her children, Michael (Morgan) Thomas, Justin (Heather) Thomas, and Meagan (Daniel) Whisenant; her grandchildren, Kinsley Thomas, Emma Thomas, Banks Thomas, Case Thomas, Randi Blake Thomas, Jensen Whisenant, and Stevie Whisenant; her siblings, James Godsey, Lynn Godsey, Brian Godsey, Liz Guyton, and Altie Hollis, and a host of nieces and nephews.
