Carl F. "Pete" Woods, age 94, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Arabella Health and Rehab in Vernon, AL.  Graveside services with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 4:00pm in Fellowship Cemetery.  Chris Weaver to officiate.  Visitation will be held in the Otts Funeral Home Chapel prior to the graveside services from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

Pete was born on April 14, 1932 in the Crossville Community to the late Bailey Franklin Woods and Mattie Lou Wheeler Woods McDaniel.  He attended school in the Crossville Community.  Pete worked in the garment plant until serving in the Army during the Korean War.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal.  Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for Alabama Tox-Eol for many years until he was elected as Circuit Clerk of Lamar County where he served three terms and retired after 18 years of service.  He was a member of Sulligent Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and was a member of the Shiner's Organization in the Zamora Temple.  Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, Alabama football, and spending time with his family.  He was married to the love of his life, Pauline Palmer Woods for seventy years.  His loving memory will forever be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
