Charles Rex Dale Murff, age 89, of Detroit, AL, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 3:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors graveside services and burial to follow in the Hamilton Memory Gardens.  Bro. Daniel Duncan and Tommy Spruiel to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 2:00pm until 3:00pm

Charles was born on August 24, 1936 in Gattman, MS to the late Forthman Murff and the late Gladys Danner Murff.  He graduated from high school in Greenwood Springs, MS and later attended college.  He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in September of 1964.  Charles enjoyed being outdoors working on his farm and raising cattle.  He was a hard worker and enjoyed the simple things in life.  Charles attended Friendship Baptist Church and Detroit First Baptist, where he faithfully served as a Deacon. His humble spirit and loving memory will forever be cherished and greatly missed.
