Daniel Franks, age 90, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 3:00pm from the Freewill Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Sulligent, AL, with burial to follow in the Wofford Cemetery. Bro. Arnold Sheets and Bro. Jerry White to officiate the services. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 6pm until 8pm. The family would like to express a special thank you to: Enhabit Hospice of Hamilton, special helpers; John Evans, Eddie and Doris Nails, Dennis Wells, Deborah Rushing, Jennifer Ritter, and Tammy Metcalf.

Mr. Daniel W. Franks was born on September 11, 1934 in Guin, AL. to the late Roy D. Franks and the late Ozie Gann. He attended and graduated from Lamar County Schools. He worked in the shipping department as a forklift driver for Chromalox where he retired after 21 years. Mr. Franks had a love for music and singing in gospel groups was a part of his life for many years. He sang baritone and tenor for20 years with one of north Alabama's most popular singing groups, The Melody Boys Quartet. He drove a tour bus and sang over 20 years with The Stateline Harmonneers. Mr. Franks was also inducted into the Lamar County Gospel Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Freewill Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He would often spend time with them playing cards, riding 4-wheelers, and taking them on trips to the mountains and camping. He had a love for the outdoors and gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
