Daniel Raymond Myers, age 81, of Detroit, AL, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services and burial to follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Bro. Dwain Cantrell to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.
Daniel was born on November 14, 1942 in Detroit, AL, at his home. He was a 1961 graduate of Sulligent High School. Daniel previously worked at Detroit Slacks. He loved his family dearly and his church family and neighbors. He loved going to church and always had a warm friendly smile on his face. Daniel was so full of love for his family and never missed a chance to call each family member to sing "Happy Birthday" to them on their birthday. He could play the guitar by ear and even taught several of his nephews to play. Daniel also had a love for the outdoors, especially gardening and spending time with his nieces and nephews. His bright smile and joyful spirit will forever be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Daniel was a member of Union Ridge Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sisters; Agnes Faye Myers Cooper, Christine Myers Camp (Curley Camp), Nieces; Gina Scott, Eluna Vintson (Pat), Tonya Smith (Alan), Melinda Humbers (Tony), Dana Cooper, Nephews; David Smith, Timothy Cooper, Barry Nash (Heather), Michael Nash, Jason Nash, (22) Great Nieces and Nephews, and (29) Great Great Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ambus Myers and Annie Lou Brown Myers, Sister; Mary Ruth Myers Gilmer, Brothers In Law; Royce Cooper and Danny Gilmer, Nephews; Cary Cooper, Danny Wayne Smith, Nieces; Rhonda Adair, Lisa Anthony, Angie Nash, (1) Great Niece, (1) Great Nephew, and (1) Great Great Nephew.
