David "Crockett" Merchant, Jr., age 51, of Sulligent, AL passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at his residence.  A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2020 at 3:00pm at Wofford Cemetery in Vernon, AL.  Bro. Paul Barham and Bro. James Godsey to officiate.

David was born on September 14, 1968 in Vernon, AL to the late William David Merchant, Sr. and Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Gordon.  He was a 1987 graduate of Sulligent High School.  David worked as a carpenter and roofer at Barham & Son.  He enjoyed hiking and was an avid Auburn Football fan.
