Dennis E. Merchant, age 58, of Sulligent, AL passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 3:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery.  Bro. James Godsey and Bro. Heath Webb to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.

Dennis was born on February 18, 1962 in Hamilton, AL to the late Bobby Merchant and Faye Easter.  He was a 1981 graduate of Sulligent High School.  Dennis was previously employed at NACCO.  He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid University of Alabama football fan.
