OBITUARY

Diana Laphane Avery Flippo

Diana Laphane Avery Flippo, age 78, of Hamilton, AL, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 2:00pm at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hamilton, AL with burial to follow in Happy Hill Cemetery.  Bro. Israel Price to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral services from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.

Diana was born on July 3, 1948 in Marion County, AL to the late Draymon "Red" Avery and the late Dorothy Evelyn Williams Avery.  She was a 1967 graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, AL.  Diana previously worked as a caregiver.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, working word search puzzles, traveling and liked listening to 70's and 80's music.  Her proudest role was being a Granny to all her precious grandchildren which she loved to spoil anytime she could.  Diana was faithful in her walk with the Lord and loved the fellowship of her church family and friends.  She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and also attended Gardendale First Baptist.  Her beautiful and loving memory will forever be cherished by all those who knew and loved her.

Stepdaughters: Teressa Flippo-Simpson, Oklahoma,

Alesia Flippo-Stonerock (James), Los Angeles, CA

Brother: Danny Avery (Bonnie), Bangor, Maine

Grandchildren: Madison Baskins Gann (Coty),

Kaylie Flippo Trepp (Ashton), and Lauren Flippo

Great Grandchildren: Colt Gann and Adleigh Joy Trepp

And a Host of Special Nieces and Nephews
