"Doc" Dillard, age 72, of Sulligent, AL passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 2pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Ronald Dillard and Bro. Louis Hollis will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Sulligent, AL. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 6pm until 8pm.

Vester "Doc" Earl Dillard was born March 13, 1950, in Gordo, AL, to the late William Clyde Dillard and Wille Banks Dillard. He attended Lamar County Schools, in the Pine Springs Community, and has lived in Lamar County for over 60 years. Doc was a self-taught small engine repairman; he owned and operated Docs small engines for 40 plus years. He enjoyed his work and especially getting to know and carry on conversations with his customers.  Doc was a founding member of the MS/AL Bass Club. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family; he also loved to talk, and especially enjoyed rebuilding small engines. He will be truly missed by his family, the community, and all who knew and loved him.
