Dorothy "Dot" Nichols Brock passed from this life into eternity to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Flower Mound, TX.  She was 92. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at 3:00pm from the Vernon City Cemetery.

Dot was born on July 30, 1932 in Vernon, AL.  She attended Vernon public schools and graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1954 with a Bachelor of Home Economics education.  She married Joe Wheeler Brock in 1955.  They were blessed with two children, Kenny and Karen.  They lived in Enterprise, AL. for some time, and later moved to Monroeville, AL.  She taught Home Economics at Monroe County High School for 25 years. When she was 55, she received her Master's in Home Economics from the University of Montevallo.  She loved her students and had a passion for teaching them to cook and sew.  She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Monroeville.  She loved to share her time and cook for family and friends. She had a strong faith in God and was an inspiration to many.  Her sweet and kind spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Amanda McGhee Nichols, her husband Joe Wheeler Brock, after 62 years of marriage, her sister Patsy Miller, and her brother, Kenneth Nichols.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Brock and wife Sharon of Reeltown AL, daughter Karen Hodge and husband Keith of Flower Mound TX; two sisters Elizabeth Brock and Brenda Finch both of Sulligent, AL; three grandchildren; Tricia Brooks and husband Nic of Reeltown, AL, Rachel Evans and husband Chase of Trussville, AL and Jonathan Hodge of Flower Mound, TX; and four great grandchildren
