Dorothy Louise Woods, age 74, of Galesburg, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at North MS Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory, MS.  The family has chosen cremation and no services will be held at this time.

Dorothy was born on July 22, 1949 in Hamburg, Iowa to the late Rufus Claude Kirk and the late Dorothy Laverne Siddens Bogeart.  She graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, IL and later graduated from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS.  Ms. Dorothy previously taught in many areas of her career, such as, schools in West Amory, Winfield, and Aberdeen as well as teaching GED classes and at a daycare.  She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Galesburg, IL where she was passionately involved in Missionary work both foreign and domestic.
