Emma Jean Bankhead, age 85, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery.  Bro. Bill Marchbanks to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 11:00am until 12:30pm.

Emma was born on October 10, 1938 in Sulligent, AL to the late Elgie and Lestie Nails.  She was married to the late Johnny James Bankhead; they had four children.  She enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible and spending time with family.  She is preceded in death by her Parents, Elgie and Lestie Nails, 1 Daughter, Arma Jean Bankhead, 3 Brothers, Clifton, Lecil, and Willie B. Nails and 1 Sister, Lois Hackman.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: 3 Children, John Edward (Linda) Bankhead of West Point, MS, Janice Bankhead of Sulligent, AL, Mary Bankhead of Oklahoma City, OK, 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 1 GG Grandchild, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
