OBITUARY

Erie Eli Scott, age 93, of Gatman, MS, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Bro. Glen Hughes and Bro. Robert Fowlkes to officiate.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the Otts Funeral Home Parlor from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Erie was born on August 16, 1930 in Caledonia, MS to the late Galloway Scott and the late Ada Reeves Scott.  He attended Sulfar Springs School in Caledonia area and later joined U.S Army, serving in the Korean War.  He faithfully served Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church as a Deacon for over 20 years.  Erie was most known for the love he had for children in the community and especially enjoyed playing "Santa Claus" every year at a local daycare.  He was an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan and loved talking to people and visiting, never meeting a stranger.  Erie was devoted to his family and thoroughly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His kind and loving spirit will always be cherished.
