On December 7, 1936, Franklin D. Taylor was born to Isaac Edward and Leah Hawkins Taylor. He was 85 years old, 3 months, and 2 days. He was married to the late Mary Lee Franks for 49 years-- just a couple weeks shy of their 50th anniversary. He was a member of the Sulligent Free Will Baptist Church. He was hard-working man during his life. In his younger days, he farmed and then went to work at McCoy Manufacturing. He left McCoy's and went to work for the next 35 years at 3-M in Guin. He loved the outdoors! He loved to hunt and fish, but his heart was always with horses! After a freak accident when he was 70, he had to give up his horses, but he never gave up his love for them. His greatest love, however, was his family! He is survived by his sister, Betty Jane Elliott Moore, his three daughters: Lisa and her husband, Ben, of McCallla, AL, Angie and her husband, John, of Marietta, GA, and Brandy and her husband, Michael, of Alabaster, AL. He had four grandchildren who were the apple of his eye: Taylor Jeffreys, Claire Harrison Lee and her husband Chase, Elijah Hamilton and Sarah Hamilton. He also leaves behind a special friend, Virginia Easter, along with many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
