Gay Nell Hester, age 82, of Sulligent, AL passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sulligent City Cemetery.  Bro. Jeff Chaffin to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.

Gay Nell was born on July 21, 1938 in Sulligent, AL to the late Clovis Flynn and the late Odell Whitehead.  She attended Pine Springs School.  Gay Nell previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing, Sulligent School lunchroom, and as a babysitter.  She enjoyed flowers, raising tomatoes, walking, and spending time with her grandkids.  Gay Nell was a member of Sulligent First Baptist Church.
