James "Cecil" Lewis, age 95, of Sulligent, AL passed away peacefully Thursday, October 29, 2020 in Gardendale, AL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00am from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel burial to follow in Pine Springs Cemetery.  Reverend Robert L. Holley and Reverend Randy Burbank to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 10:00am until 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. Vincent's Hospice Program, 1400 Urban Center Drive #240, Vestavia Hills, AL 35242 or your favorite charity.

Cecil was born on July 6, 1925 in Sulligent, AL to the late Joseph Clovis Lewis and the late Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lewis.  Cecil grew up in Sulligent, but spent his working years in Illinois.  He and his wife, Jean, returned to Sulligent after retirement in 1988.  Cecil was a member of Oakhill United Methodist Church where he attended when able.  He enjoyed baseball, fishing, and hunting.
