James O. "Shammie" McDonald, age 90, of Guin, AL, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL.  The family has chosen cremation and no memorial services will be held at this time.

James was born on March 13, 1934 in Beaverton, AL to the late Austin McDonald and the late Denver Barnes McDonald.  He graduated from Sulligent Schools.  James proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years.  He was a truck driver by profession for over 40 years.  He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed going fishing with his brother Larry.  James was married to his beloved wife, Willadean, for nine years.  He loved his family dearly and in return his kind heart and gentle spirit will always be lovingly remembered and cherished.  James was a member of Life Church in Beaverton, AL.
