James L. Salter, age 56 of Marion County, AL passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 from Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery. Willie Joe Hollis will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.

James was born September 13, 1958 in Marion County, AL to the late Ernest and Eittie Mae Salter. He never met a stranger and had a heart big enough to love the world. He worked for many years as a roofer for LeDuke Roofing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and working on cars. James was a member of Highway 278 Church of God.
