James Lewis Stanford, age 62, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at his residence.  Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 6:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel.  Bro. Thad Hawkins to officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 5:00pm until 6:00pm.

James was born on May 14, 1963 in Gattman, MS and raised by Robert and Willie Cantrell.  He attended Sulligent Schools.  James formerly worked at Sprint Boat as well as Franklin Sawmill.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing with his nearest friends, Chuck Smith, Ricky Stockman, Tony Smith, John Stockman, and Haylen Cantrell.  He also enjoyed his younger days at Gattman Café shooting pool.  All who knew James or ever met him enjoyed his contagious laughter.  His bright spirit and humble heart will always be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
