J.B. Heard, age 93, of Caledonia, MS, in the Priestville Community, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Northington-Heard Cemetery in Gattman, MS.  Bro. Randy Kennedy, Bro. Harvey Coplin, and Bro. Don Taggart to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

J.B. was born on October 30, 1928 Monroe Co., MS to the late Arthur Lee Heard and the late Susan Cox.  He was a 1947 graduate of Greenwood Springs High School.  He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He previously worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and retired from Monroe County Supervisors 3rd District. J.B. enjoyed operating heavy equipment and mowing yards.  He was a former Deacon of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and a member and trustee of Depriest Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
