Obituary

Jimmy Ray Arnold, age 79, of Greenwood Springs, MS, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 2:00pm at New Centerpoint FWB Church with Military Honors Graveside services and burial to follow in Lann Cemetery in Greenwood Springs, MS.  The body will lie in state at the church prior to the funeral services from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.  Bro. Heath Webb and Bro. Jeremy Hollis to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Jimmy was born on May 9, 1946 in Aberdeen, MS to the late Janie Lee Arnold.  He was a 1964 graduate of Hatley High School.  Jimmy retired after 40 years of dedicated service from Babcock & Wilcox in West Point, MS.  He honorably served and retired from the AL Army National Guard 877th ENGR Batallion in 1990.  Jimmy had a great fondness for the outdoors and loved to be hunting, fishing, and always enjoyed going camping.  He was known to be an avid Alabama fan and also enjoyed fast cars and collecting guns.  He loved spending time with his family, especially barbecuing and grilling for them.  He was a very proud and faithful member and trustee of New Centerpoint FWB Church.  His bright and loving memory will forever be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Nephews: Glenn (Amber) Smith and Terry (Kay) Smith

Great Nieces and Nephews: Colbie Grace Smith, Cayden Smith,

Logan Smith, and Gavin Smith

Sisters In Law: Barbara Brake and Burman Jordan

Brother In Law: Curtis Brake
