Joann Robinson
Hankins
Oct 20, 1951 — Feb 15, 2024
Sulligent
The Hankins family is sad to convey the passing of Joann Robinson Hankins, 72, of Sulligent, Alabama on February 15, 2024.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 3:30 pm at Sulligent City Cemetery with Rabbi Steven Jacobs and Bro. Jeremy Sorrells officiating.
Joann was born to Ruth Kusher Robinson and Gale Arthur Robinson in Little Rock, Arkansas. After college, she married the love of her life, Randy Hankins and they shared 52 wonderful years together.
Joann graduated from Sulligent High School and attended The University of Alabama. She was employed by McCoy Manufacturing as a procurement specialist for 30 years and by United Furniture for 12 years. During her retirement she enjoyed the achievements of her grandchildren, knitting, cooking especially for her women's group and wonderful over-the-top Thanksgiving dinners, sharing her Jewish knowledge with her bible study class, mind-stimulating puzzles, British comedies, movies, shopping, listening to oldies music, interacting with nature's creatures and most of all sharing quality time with her family and friends. She was always the first to help a friend in need and will always be remembered for her loving nature.
Left to mourn are her husband, Randy; loving canine companion, Jazzy; son, Jason (Rhonda) Hankins; grandchildren, Nataleigh Hankins, Jon Randall Hankins, and Kaitlin Gray; sister, Donna (Gerald) Stone; nieces, Abbe Fine (Ric Seavy), Leah Stone, Bella Besser, Michelle Herron, and Chasity Hankins; nephews, Adam Fine, Aric (Kim) Fine, Alec (Lisa) Stone, Israel Besser, Shmuel (Betty) Besser, and Jerry (Dianne) Herron; sister-in-law, Nelda (Danny) Herron; brother-in-law, David Hankins, many grand nieces and nephews including Aleah (Alicia) Fine, Braxton Fine, Harley Herron and Oakley Herron; as well as numerous lifelong friends.
Her parents preceded her in death, as did her sisters Miriam Besser and Sheila Besser Fine.
Please consider making a donation in her memory to Trees in Israel (jnf.org), her cherished bible study class at First Baptist Church, Sulligent, Alabama or a charity of your choice.
May her memory forever be a blessing!
