John D. Allen, age 87, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 1:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Wofford Cemetery.  Bro. David Sullivan to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.

John was born on August 7, 1938 in Vernon, AL to the late Redden Allen and the late Ollie Mae Humbers Allen.  He attended Molloy School.  John previously worked at Marathon and he owned and operated Allen's Country Store.  He enjoyed being outdoors, especially going hunting and fishing.  John loved his family dearly and cherished spending time with them making memories.  His humble and kind spirit will always be fondly remembered.
