Joyce W. Borders, age 92, of Andover, MN formerly of Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully at Gracewood Sr. Living on August 18, 2021.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 3:00pm at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home, 311 S. Ashland Street, Cambridge, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 12:00pm in the Bentley Family Cemetery in Fayette, AL.

Joyce worked for many years as an ICU and Heart Surgery nurse at the University of Alabama, Birmingham Hospital, until an unfortunate accident forced her to retire.  In her spare time, she loved reading a really good mystery novel and enjoyed watching a good western on TV.  Joyce also loved to knit, keeping countless family and friends warm on those cold Minnesota nights.  Wynelle was a faithful Christian who attended the Baptist Church as long as she was physically able.  She was fiercely independent, but loved giving to others.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Homer, William (Joann) and David; daughter, Carol (Eason) Hilyer; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Sims and Gail Moore and her brother Eades Goode and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gertis Goode; brother, Lemuel Goode and sister, Joann Goode.
