OBITUARY

Judy Ann Akins, age 60, of Columbus, MS, formerly of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 3:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Sizemore Memorial Cemetery.  Bro. James Godsey to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.

Judy was born on September 25, 1963 in Vernon, AL to the late Jessie Newman Motes and the late Ramie Ailene Price Motes.  She attended Lamar County High School.  Judy was previously employed at Mr.Gene's in Sulligent for over 28 years where she was most known for her delicious cheese sticks.  She later worked at Mac's Minit Mart after the closing of Mr. Gene's and continued the tradition there.  She enjoyed cooking, karaoke, and dancing.  Judy loved her family dearly and her precious spirit will always be remembered by not only them, but the community she lovingly served for so many years.
