Junior Whitaker, age 64, of Detroit, AL passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.  Bro. B.J. Mills and Bro. Glen Boman to officiate.  Visitation will held at the funeral home on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Junior was born on August 4, 1955 in Aberdeen, MS to the late Connie Ray Whitaker, Sr. and the late Sallie Brewer.  He attended Greenwood Springs and Hatley schools.  Junior previously owned and operated Sipsey Creek Trucking Co. and worked as a truck driver.  He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's ballgames, playing golf, genealogy, traveling and going places with his family.  Junior could fix anything and he never met a stranger.  He was a member of Detroit Baptist Church.
