Lyndon Tooke age 95 of Detroit, Al. passed away Monday Dec. 8, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm from Detroit United Methodist Church with graveside service and burial to follow in Carter Cemetery. Denise Park and Bro. Dalton Eason will officiate. The body will lie in state at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00pm. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6-8pm. Lyndon was born July 3, 1919 in Lamar County, AL to the late Cicero Wilbur and Ora Artelia Murray Tooke. He grew up in the Lamar County area and attended Sulligent High School. He was a busy man working throughout his life as a farmer, carpenter and at Detroit Slacks. Mr. Lyndon was a member of Detroit United Methodist Church and was the oldest church member there too. For enjoyment, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Great Granchildren: J.D. Taylor, Laura Beth Taylor, Tyler Woods, Weston Woods and Aiden Woods
