Mackey passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 in Spring, Texas. However, his heart was always in Alabama – ROLL TIDE!

Mackey was born August 2, 1938 in Sulligent, Alabama to Nolen Davis Otts and Edith Minor Otts.

He joined the Air Force in 1955 and served proudly until his retirement in 1978. His second career was in Air Conditioning sales, where he utilized his vibrant personality and dynamic people skills to become a top professional in his field.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Nolen Wayne Otts and his brothers, Dwayne Smith and Dale Otts. Surviving are his daughters Carmen Otts Roa and Jessica Brown (David), along with his ten beautiful grandchildren and eight amazing great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Gardens in Calera, Alabama. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 with the Service beginning at 1:00. A military tribute will be presented at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama immediately afterwards.  Reception details to follow.
