Martha Kerr Self, age 81, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at her residence. Private family graveside services followed by burial will be held from the Liberty Grove Cemetery in Itawamba County Mississippi. Pastor Steven Sanderson officiating.

Martha was born on November 21, 1944 in Hamilton, AL to the late Fred Ballard and Alene Edgeworth Ballard. She was a 1962 graduate of Hamilton High School. Martha attended Hamilton Trade School and became a cosmetologist. She worked as a hairdresser in various salons through the years. Martha was a member of the Detroit Church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
