Marty Dollar, age 54, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Lowndes Co., MS. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 4:00 pm at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Vernon, AL.  Bro. Joe Beckon to officiate the services. Visitation will be held at First Freewill Baptist Church on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 2:00 pm until service time at 4:00 pm. Inurnment to follow in the Vernon City Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL at www.childrensal.org .

Marty was born on July 30, 1969 in Amory, MS to the late Steve Kilgore and the late Vivian Otts Spencer. She was a 1987 graduate of Sulligent High School in Sulligent, AL. Marty was a 1991 graduate of the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS. She was a Registered Nurse and had previously worked in the Labor and Delivery Unit at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital, Columbus, MS., Ochsner LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA., and was currently working as a nurse manager at the NMMC-West Point, MS. Marty 's most recent achievement at the NMMC West Point, MS was being the Baby Friendly Status. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and had most recently became a Nana to Vivi Claire. She loved to travel with her family to the beach and to visit family in Wisconsin. Marty enjoyed spending time and watching movies on the iPad with Vivi Claire. She loved her work and she especially loved her past and previous work family. She will be greatly missed by the community and all who knew, loved, and adored her.
