Myrtle Mae Akridge , age 61, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, AL.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery.  Bro. Bradley Long to officiate.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the Otts Funeral Home Parlor from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Myrtle was born on April 19, 1961 in Amory, MS to the late William Amos Murphy and Ruby G. Humbers Murphy.  She attended Detroit School.  Myrtle previously worked for BNSF as a driver for the rail crew.  She thoroughly loved being outdoors any time she could, especially spending time at the lake, crappie fishing and making memories with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed traveling and diamond arts, but spending time with her grandchildren was what she cherished most.
