Raymond "Marcus" Herron, age 85, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00am from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sulligent City Cemetery.  Bro. Ricky Kendrick and Bro. Danny Paul Hollis to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Marcus was born on April 4, 1939 in Lamar County, AL to the late Leroy Herron and the late Gladys Humbers Herron.  He was a 1958 graduate of Sulligent High School.  Marcus was a retired truck driver.  He loved the outdoors, especially going hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family at gatherings.  He loved his family dearly and the precious memory of his tender spirit and kind heart will always be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.  Marcus was a member of Life Church in Beaverton, AL.
