Roger Harris, age 78, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service, Mr. Harris will be cremated. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to New Prospects Primitive Baptist Church, 4135 Mulberry Rd, Sulligent, AL 35586.

Roger Harold Harris

August 15, 1946 – June 24, 2025

Born and raised in Woodburn, KY, on his family farm, the son of Lena Jewell and William Harris. He married Janice Gosa on August 10, 1966. Roger proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and spent time in Vietnam. He loved his country and our President. Preceded in death by his parents, W.M. and Lena Harris, sister Faye Simpson (Hubert), brothers Bobby Ray, Charles (Grady), and Joe Harris. Survived by his son, Troy A. Harris (Yvette), and precious granddaughter Ava Valon Harris, adopted children Tina Register, Patrick, and Kyle Register, his sister Gayle Lee, and his brother Don Harris, his loving wife of 59 years, Janice Harris, his adopted brothers Tommy Sams (Betty) and Woody Latham (Teresa), along with many incredible cousins, nieces, nephews, and much-loved friends. Roger was with Tom's Peanut Company for 35 years. Roger enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time with friends and family. As so many have gone before him, Roger fought a brave battle against cancer and other illnesses. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him .
