Shirley Hulsey, age 71, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at her residence.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 6:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Taylor Springs Cemetery.  Pastor Angela Metcalfe to officiate.

Shirley was born on April 11, 1953 in Moline, IL to the late George W. Price and the late Pearlie Crowe Price.  She attended Sulligent Schools and studied Cosmetology at the Trade School. Shirley was a member of Sulligent First Freewill Baptist Church. She absolutely loved to going to yard sales, ordering from QVC and going shopping with her girls.  She also treasured spending time with her precious children and grandbabies.  The ones who called her "Aunt Shirley" from her time spent volunteering in the elementary school classes.  Her children who knew her as "Miss Shirley" : the school mom who was always ready to help out on any school trip, the band bus parent, the Girl Scout troop leader, the Cheer mom, the mom that could always be counted on to be in the concession stand helping out where she could. She loved each of them as her own and continued to speak about the good ole days up until her passing.  Those times spent with her all of her children at school events were priceless to her.  To the two who called her "Mamaw Shirley", she loved them fiercely and looked forward to every precious moment with them.   To the three who called her Mom and to the man who called her Wife of over 56 years, each of them have a special bond with her, that can never be replaced.  To her friends who called her "Shirley Whirley",  her joyful spirit and loving heart will always be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
