OBITUARY

Terry Stephens, age 72, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 6:00pm at Nebo Church in Vernon, AL with burial to follow in Furnace Hill Cemetery.  Bro. Terry McAdams to officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the funeral service from 5:00pm until 6:00pm.

Terry was born on February 14, 1953 in Columbus, MS to John Thurman Stephens and Carol Reid Duncan Stephens.  He was a 1971 graduate of Lamar County High School and later graduated from Bevill State Community College followed by a degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.  Terry was previously employed at Hyster where he retired from in 2001.  He owned and operated Subway in Vernon and Jasper.  Terry enjoyed being outdoors, especially going fishing and loved spending time with his precious grandchildren which he adored.  He was a very well known avid Alabama Football fan and thoroughly enjoyed traveling and tailgating with his family and friends at the ballgames any time he could.  His family was his life.  Terry and his loving wife, Pat, were 8 months away from celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary, which is a true testament of the strong and faithful foundation he had established.  His bright smile, tender heart and loving spirit will always be cherished and greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.  Terry was a member of Nebo Church in Vernon, AL.
