Vance Douglas "Doug" Nethery, age 82, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services and burial to follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Bro. Kelvin Price and Sharon Nethery to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Doug was born on February 24, 1942 in Sulligent, AL to the late Vance Ohlen Nethery and the late Ruby Mae Nethery.  He worked as a logger most of his life, but had previously hauled oranges while living in Florida and owned a produce business.  Doug enjoyed being outdoors, especially going fishing, and loved his farm animals.  He was very devoted to his family and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with them making memories.  Doug attended Revelation of Holiness Church.  His precious memory will always be cherished and adored by his loving family.
