Wayne Carruth, age 61, of Sulligent, AL passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 3:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Bro. Danny Thompson, Bro. Jason Clifton, and Bro. B.J. Mills to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

Wayne was born on January 1, 1959 in Rock Island, Illinois to the late Bill Carruth and the late Effie Taylor.  He was a 1979 graduate of Sulligent High School and later graduated from The University of Alabama. Wayne worked many jobs in his career such as Bail Bondsman, operated a timber business, worked for United Gas for several years, previously served as Coroner and an Auxiliary Deputy and Firefighter in Monroe County, MS.  He also served on the First State Bank Advisory Board, City of Sulligent Industrial Development Board and was a Mason.  Wayne enjoyed mud racing, hunting, working, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a member of Sulligent First Freewill Baptist Church.
