W.C. McGown, Jr., age 63, of Vernon, AL, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 12:00pm at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Furnace Hill Cemetery. Bro. Benny Henry to officiate. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 11:00am until service time at 12:00pm.

W.C. was born January 9, 1958 to the late W.C. McGown, Sr. and the late Pearline Shealy.  He was a graduate of Sylacauga High School and later attended Jefferson State University in Birmingham, AL and Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL, where he received his Bachelor's Degree.  W.C served as a minister for over 45 years, was an insurance salesman, worked in dietary food service, was a social worker and a substitute teacher.  He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Millport, AL.
