William E. "Bill" Wheeler, age 80, of Northport, AL, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at DCH-Northport in Northport, AL.  Memorial services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 12:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel.  Bro. Ralph "Butch" Bailey to officiate.  The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 11:00am until 12:00pm.

Bill was born on June 17, 1943 in Vernon, AL to the late Eldon Wheeler and the late Laura Overton Wheeler.  He was a 1962 graduate of Lamar County High School.  Bill enlisted in the US Air Force immediately upon graduation and honorably served until his active service ended in March of 1966. He previously worked and retired after a long career from GM&O Railroad.  Bill loved to be outdoors and especially going fishing.  He truly loved his family and his kind and gentle spirit will always be cherished.
